Eir-Anne Edgar is a Ph.D. candidate in the English department. Her dissertation research focuses on the intersections of class, race, and gender during the Sexual Revolution. She is the RA for the Social Theory Program. She served as the co-editor of disClosure: A Journal of Social Theory. Eir-Anne has taught introductory English courses, Major Black Writers, Introduction to Literature, and has served as a tutor for undergraduates, graduates, and faculty at the Writing Center. She has served in an administrative position for the campus-wide Graduate Student Congress, addressing issues ranging from graduate health insurance to privacy policies. Her article on Charlotte Perkins Gilman and the novel Herland can be found in the spring 2011 issue of World Literary History. Eir-Anne's article discussing the television show "RuPaul's Drag Race" and issues of drag performance and authenticity will appear in the fall 2011 issue of Studies in Popular Culture. Her article,“Connecting Source Material to Claims,”  appears on the website Writing Commons and was republished in Network, Collaborate, Compose: College Writing in the Digital Age, the major reader for U. of Florida freshmen. Additional publications include: "Dear Student" in the Chronicle of Higher Education and “Hauntingly Familiar: Bondage, Blood, and Property in Old Hepsy" in Parlour: A Journal of Literary Criticism and Analysis. She is the recipient of multiple fellowships and awards, including the Women's Club Fellowship Award and the Lyman T. Odyssey Award. She was also recognized as an Emerging Diversity Scholar by the National Center for Institutional Diversity at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

She has presented at many conferences, nationally and internationally. She has most recently organized a panel on narratives of the Sexual Revolution for the 2015 International Conference on Narrative. Eir-Anne completed her English M.A. at West Virginia University in 2008 and a B.A. in English and History at WVU in 2006.
