Biography:

Hi! I am very excited to be working with students, faculty and staff in the College of Arts and Sciences.
I graduated from Bates College (Lewiston, ME) with a Bachelors Degree in Child and Family Studies, an individually designed, interdisciplinary major. While at Bates, I also minored in Spanish and the Sociology of Inequality. I earned my Masters degree in Social Work at Simmons College (Boston, MA) with a Certificate in Urban Leadership in Clinical Social Work. Having attended small schools, I understand the importance of individuality, and will be able to provide personalized attention to each student. Prior to working at UK, I have counseled people in a variety of settings including elementary and middle schools, a college writing center, and a community health center.

I have lived abroad in both Ecuador and Costa Rica. In both places I studied, volunteered, traveled, and learned to dance! I enjoy talking to students about studying abroad, and I encourage anyone who can, to go abroad! Feel free to speak with me in Spanish.

In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, reading, hiking, scrapbooking, traveling, and spending time with my family.

As a clinical social worker, I am trained to help individuals set goals for themselves and determine ways to achieve them. I’m delighted to work with students at UK to help them accomplish their academic, career, and personal goals.
