Biography

I am a fourth year Ph.D. student with a major focus on International Relations and a minor in Methodology. My research interests center on United Nations peacekeeping operations and their associated effects on the mission host country. Previously, I investigated how the balance of power between government and rebel forces alters peacekeeping mission size through causal methods. In addition, I leveraged survey data to analyze how an individual's valuation of human rights and exposure to peacekeeping operations affects their preference for Untied Nations intervention. Currently, I am interesting in the effect of "risky" peacekeeping mandates and its effects on various mission outcomes such as troop contributions, troop movements, and the deterrence of violence against civilians.
