Biography

Tasnia is a Ph.D student in Political Science, with a major concentration in Comparative Politics and a minor concentration in International Relations. Her dissertation topic is “Violence against Women (VAW) and In-Group Identities: Exploring the Intersection of Gendered Violence and Political Identity” where she focuses on the relationship between in-group biases, VAW and political attitudes toward VAW, and the government institutions and policies responsible for dealing with it.

She completed a Master of Arts in Economics at Eastern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Asian University for Women. She is currently the recipient of the Ashley T. Judd Distinguished Graduate Fellowship through the Office for Policy Studies on Violence against Women (OPSVAW).

She is teaching PS372: Introduction to Political Analysis in Fall 2022.
