Originally from Texas, Catie came to the University of Kentucky with a background in Classics and an interest in language to deepen her background in Linguistics. She has found what she was looking for in the MALTT program. She is a TA teaching WRD 110 in fall 2022 and is the VP of the Linguistics Graduate Student Association. 

Research interests: sociophonetic and perception studies, flirtation, historical sociolinguistics, and computational linguistics (non-exhaustive). 

Personal interests: knitting, crocheting, audiobooks, and creative writing (amongst others).
