Lizeth Garcia

My name is Lizeth, and I am a freshman at the University of Kentucky. I was born in a small border town in Mexico, and moved to Cincinnati when I was 4. Coming from Mexico, my mom made sure to keep me in touch with my roots, which included being fluent in Spanish. So now I am literate in both English and Spanish, and I have my parents to thank for that. Something that interests me is helping people. Back at home I did volunteer work, the most meaningful thing I did was tutoring/mentoring at an organization called Operation Give Back. I learned a lot from my time there, and I am glad I spent my afternoons helping kids who needed it. I plan on graduating as a psychology major, and pursuing a career in which I can help people, even if it means something as simple as listening to them.
